Work with Us

We're looking for a PhD student or other flexible Researcher to support our Autumn/Winter projects, potentially 3-5 hours a week, but the role can expand and contract at your pace.

We’re looking for someone who has a can-do attitude, enjoys talking to people and listening, is highly organised, thoughtful and observant, asks good questions, and is passionate about improving health inequalities through research.

We’re much more interested in how you work than your specific research field or whether you consider yourself a quantitative or qualitative researcher. You don’t need to tick every box. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic, reliable and keen to get involved.

What we need

A priority project involves supporting and facilitating two workshops with members of the public and research professionals during October and November. Dates are still being confirmed, so we’d particularly like to hear about your availability for facilitation in those months, while work starts in September. This project would involve one in-person day in Manchester, for which travel is required.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Communicating and working closely with our small team

  • Supporting workshop design, planning and governance

  • Onboarding and communicating with members of the public

  • Joining client and project meetings

  • Facilitating small-group discussions, both in person and online

  • Supporting qualitative analysis and reporting

Outside of the workshops themselves, the work can be very flexible around your PhD or other commitments, with around 3–5 hours per week anticipated. More hours may be available if preferred, and we'd like the collaboration to continue ideally into other projects. Pay is £22.41 per hour.

Contact

If you’re interested, please send us a short email with a little about yourself, including why you're interested and evidence of your strengths for this role, and your availability during October and November.

Deadline

Our projects have short timelines so please apply as soon as possible; while we will always accept applications to our research pool, this position will close as soon as it is filled.
